North Magazine
My project is to develop a magazine to showcase the particular qualities of Scandanavian design to a wider European or world audience – who might take it for granted or not recognize where it came from.
So I created a guideline showing off these Scandanavian qualities and basic structures in North Magazine - the most important overall disciples featured being fashion
design, interior design and architecture. In addition to these main themes, I have
designed sections where both the use of the font, Gill Sans, and the specific color
palette is explained. I have also covered the reasoning behind the format and
the rationale of the layout.
The magazine has a clean expression. The pictures are light in color and are
visually calm. The typography is used in small amounts throughout, so that no page
is overloaded. There are some pages in full color – these are added to create some
controlled motion and excitement in the layout.
