Childhood Fears

My project deals with how experiencing fear is not only normal but necessary in helping them to deal with future unsettling experiences and challenging situations. The nature
of fear changes as children grow and develop.

My project uses familiar objects to represent all three of the key stages in the experiencing of childhood fears – from 0-2 toddlers lose sight of their mothers and or a ‘transitional object; from 3-6 – fear of what is real or not real –monsters, ghosts, imaginary beings- or irrational fears of harmless objects; then finally from 7-12 –more real life fears-safety of themselves, loved one, pets, school performance
and social rejection.
