Feminism in Film
My project explores the way that actresses from the golden age of Hollywood –the 40’s and 50’s- projected their femininity and compapares this with contemporary film actresses.
The resulting book distills the key signifiers of these different femininities into a series of illustrations that make use of bright, neon colours and acetate
for the contemporary aspects, together with elements of fragmented typography
and paper stock representing the earlier version.
