My project is focused on psycho-geographical walks on Regents Canal between Broadway
Market and Angel and is inspired by Sam Winston. I aimed to create an alternative
map of the canal based on psycho-geography. Guy Debord describes this as "the study of the precise laws and specific effects of the geographical environment, consciously organized or not, on the emotions and behaviour of individuals." I spent many hours observing and analysing people in this environment in order to produce a work that would reflect the changes that have occurred in the area - a combination of movement and stillness.
