Please Tear Here: a gender deconstruction
My project deals with creating interactive pieces that aim to open up contemporary debates about gender. It challenges the general public to physically deconstruct gender, interacting with a 20 layer image compiled of 39 pieces of paper. Through a series of tears, the collective viewer contributes to the development of surface wreckage, where “distressed and damaged surfaces resonate with the promise of deeper metaphorical
