Precious Advice

There is one song in the world which picks me up and out of whatever dark hole I may find myself in. This song is The Sunscreen Song by Baz Luhrmann. My project explores this in a visual way and aims to communicate its message typographically through a variety of hand finished mediums to emphasise it’s precious nature. 

I asked a group of people of varying backgrounds to comment on how they felt about the song and to offer one piece of advice that was most poignant to them. With this information I created a ‘top 10’ of advice, which together with the song’s lyrics became my source materials – these were used across poster, book and video pieces.
