My project explores the recent shifting dynamic from reading printed books to
digital 'ebooks'. The technologies of these digital reading devices are creating a
divide in a society between traditional ways of reading and modern
screen-based reading.
My aim is to remind people about the basic action behind these issues which is
causing them confusion: reading. This vital aspect of everyday life is being lost in
the debate of print vs. digital. I wanted to strip it back, remove the materials
which people are reading from and remind them that the most important
aspect is the content.
The sets of postcards aim to intrigue the viewer; their bright, intrusive
appearance making them look twice and think about the message being given.
